Ficsters for Small Fry are hosting our First Fic Contest!
Since we all love our Small Frys, this contest is based on the Nemos of the world. We want you to come up with a fic of between 1,000 -3,000 words, and the theme is water.
How you use the theme is upto you, but be creative, as originality is one of the judging criteria.
~*RULES*~
'cos there has to be some!
1.) The theme of the story must involve water in some way - the career of your characters can involve water, the way they meet can involve water, whatever you choose, but WATER is the important part of this plot. And don't just think of oceans - rivers, lakes, streams, puddles, and pools are great uses of water too.
A few examples: Character almost drowns. Characters meet while fishing. Character is a life saver. - You get the drift.
2.) You must write at least 1,000 words, but no more than 3,000. This IS a contest for short stories, so try not to go too overboard.
3.) Contestants may enter the competition up to 2 times maximum. We know some of you have rampant plot bunnies, so if you want to do another story, go right ahead.
4.) This is an anonymous competition where entries will be judged. Please keep all entries a secret. If we find out authors are leaking which stories are theirs, that story will be automatically disqualified. We would like to keep this a fair competition where stories are based on quality, not popularity.
Although you cannot share your entry, you can let people know you have submitted a story for the contest. If you would like to promote the contest, feel free to use the avis which can be found on the Ficsters for Small Fry blog.
5.) Absolutely NO entries containing incest, rape, pedophilia, or bestiality will be accepted. However, all lemons, including slash and BDSM, are acceptable. This IS a quickie competition ... so, be creative!
6.) ALL fandoms are welcome to participate in this competition. We know everyone has a different fandom they love and we would enjoy seeing what you can come up with the fandom you enjoy most.
7.) We ask that only those ages 18+ participate in this contest. It is open to all ratings, but we know there will be stories that are rated M with excessive sexual content. Because these stories are technically only allowed for those over the age of 18, we have decided that it is best to place and age restriction on contest entries.
8.) It is highly recommended that all entries are beta’d. You will be judged on your spelling and grammar. You may use your own beta, but if you do not have one, you may email us at ficstersforsmallfry@hotmai

We will be posting all entries on the Ficsters for Small Fry fanfiction account for you to read. We ask that you please hold off on posting the stories on your own personal account until the judging is over.
There will be 3 winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place) decided by the judge's and by a public vote. The winners will receive a banner made by our wonderfully talented Ashes at Midnight. The winners will also get a write up on our blog.
